Give the excess orphanage foundation is a group of people passionately committed to improving access to education, rehabilitation/shelter, healthcare and justice for orphans in communities of Uganda. We aim to restore the dignity and hope of those we serve by helping to provide education facilities, provide innovative services and work to change the attitudes of the societies we serve Orphaned Children and Disadvantaged Elderly People both at community level and nationwide.
The organization has a total membership of about 70% of the adult membership is female and 80% of the youth is also female. The population of this area consists mainly of low income earners as most of them live in slum conditions adjacent to the organization and the villages nearby and do petty business selling tomatoes, bananas etc. The largest numbers of them are economically disadvantaged with most of them being children orphaned due to HIV/AIDS and Widows who are struggling to earn a living.
The community views Geof as a beacon of hope, a lighthouse, having established itself in the middle of such an area as an organization to reach the people of the surrounding area with support of education, Innovation, Safe water and Child protection. its goal is to link the organization to community service and development through nurturing an environment that will empower people from this region to participate fully in the efforts designed to alleviate poverty, ignorance, and disease affecting them, through nurturing a people centered and sustainable development approach.
